YOUR DESIGN JOURNEY WITH LAB CREATIVE

We are SO excited to bring your brand to life visually through our powerful design process! Below, we've outlined the steps we'll take you through. Please note, if any additional elements were added outside of our standard package, your process may look slightly different.

DESIGN: Getting Started

We will send you an official welcome message which includes who to contact with questions, how to book your strategy sessions, and a link to our client information form and access to our Brand Roadmap plan – which is a step-by-step checklist...from securing your domain name and social handles to unveiling your new brand to the world.

We’ll be using a WhatsApp group chat for most communication throughout your project. Email will be used sparingly.

If we do not already have it, we will need your final Brand Foundation PDF from Brand Camp. This document is essential to the design process and ensure we are all set up for success!

We’ll be ready to move on when…your Brand Foundation have been received and when we’ve connected on WhatsApp.

DESIGN: Moodboard & Colour Palette

First, Maria will develop your pinterest board. The purpose of the board is for you to add images, logos, patterns and fonts that you LOVE. We’ll include the colours that fit your brand personality to help get you started.

You’ll receive an message with the link to your private board and a video showing you what to do. We’ve made it super easy!

*It is essential that you, and any other key stakeholders in the business are the one(s) to complete this exercise to ensure we have a clear understanding of your aesthetic and the design direction.

When you have completed the Pinterest board, we will have a meeting on Zoom with both Laura and Maria to review your boards. We will discuss colour pairings, logo and icon concepts and overall the overall style of the brand we are going to develop.

Then Maria will create a moodboard and colour palette based on your Pinterest board and our review meeting. This will be sent to you with a request for feedback or approval.

We’ll be ready to move on when...Your Pinterest board, moodboard, and colour palette have all been approved.

DESIGN: Logo Design

Based on your Brand Foundation and our discussion from the Pinterest review meeting, Maria will develop initial design concepts that she will present to Laura. Based on that conversation, revisions and tweaks will be made before proceeding 3 final design concepts to you.

We’ll present the concepts to you on a zoom meeting. We do this to walk you through the ideas, see your reaction and talk about what you love (or don’t love) what tweaks or changes you’d like to see.

* We keep the designs in black and white at this stage to help you focus on the design and fonts rather than colour.

After the call, Maria will send you the file so you have it to look at on your own.

Typically there are some revisions requested and Maria will work on those and send the new options for your feedback or approval.

Once you've approved one of the concepts, Maria will create colour variations of the logo, and send them for your review. If required, revisions will be made based on your feedback.

Once the colour version of your logo is approved, Maria will then create your tagline. This will also be submitted to you for approval or revisions.

On your first strategy call with Laura, (which happens shortly after your logo design is approved) you will discuss your social media plans and preferred platforms, as well as develop a launch plan and review the branding roadmap.

We’ll be ready to move on when... Your colours, logo, and tagline designs are all approved!

DESIGN: Social Media Graphics

Based on your conversation with Laura in your first strategy session, Maria will create social media covers and profile graphics for your 3-5 key platforms. These will be sent to you for feedback and approval.

Then, Maria will move onto creating your social media templates for your preferred platforms, which may include Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, or Twitter.

Once the designs are approved, they will be added to your Canva account for your future use. *We will need access to your Canva account.

You will also receive a set of launch graphics to share on your social media and announce your new brand!

We’ll be ready to move on when...Your social media covers and templates are complete and uploaded to your Canva account.

DESIGN: Brand Guidelines

One of the most important documents you will receive is your Brand Guidelines. Keep a copy handy for yourself, share it with your team and anyone who is working on your brand. Such as, your copywriter or social media manager.

This PDF will outline:

  • Your Brand Essence, Brand Position, Why Statement and Brand Personality

  • Logo Variations: primary, secondary versions in colour and black + white

  • Icon and or tagline design in colour and black + white (if applicable)

  • Your Moodboard and Colours (with CMYK, RGB and HEX information so you can ensure your colours are always accurate and consistent)

  • What not to do with the logo (ie. Change scale, add outline, change colours etc...)

DESIGN: Project Wrap up

It’s time! Your new visual brand is ready to be unleashed to the world!

Maria will create a Dropbox folder containing all of your assets – a link to which will be sent to you.

* We ask that you please download the folder contents to your own device as soon as received to make sure you have everything. Projects are archived after 2 weeks and will no longer be available.

Finally, there will be a wrap up call with Laura to answer any final questions and review your brand launch plan so you know what to do next and have everything you need!

You can come back to us anytime in the future for Strategy Sessions or on-going Brand Coaching with Laura and Design Time with Maria! Email [email protected] with any questions about this!

WEBSITE: Getting Started

We will get started with a planning session where we will develop a sitemap and a high level content outline together.

We’ll be ready to move on when…this call has taken place and we have received any information needed to write the website copy.

WEBSITE: Content + Photography

While we are working on writing the copy for your website, you will be gathering photographs, testimonials, and content we need for the website. If you need to book photoshoot, this is best done as soon as possible in this process to ensure we can keep moving forward. We can recommend a photographer and will provide a detailed shot list as well as inspiration images as guidance.

We’ll be ready to move on when…we have received the photographs and approval on the copy.

WEBSITE: Design + Build

Now that we have everything we need, Maria will work on designing the website. This process will take several weeks, and we will continue to prove weekly updates. We will meet to review the site together and you will have time to go through it in detail and provide feedback.

We’ll be ready to move on when…we have received your feedback.

WEBSITE: Revisions

Maria will work on your revisions and ensure the site looks good on desktop, mobile and iPad and that all links and forms are working.

We’ll be ready to move on when…we have received your approval.

WEBSITE: Domain Access

We will need access to your domain hosting site to connect the website to your domain. We will also need you to purchase your square space subscription in order to go live.

We’ll be ready to move on when…we have received your domain access.

WEBSITE: Go Live!

Your domain is connected and your website is now live! We recommend going through the entire site and testing the form, we will do the same.

Congratulations! Now it’s time to share your new website with the world.
