I couldn't wait to get my driver’s licence when I was 16. I still remember the glorious day I got that little plastic card in my hands! FREEEEEDOM!!!!
My family had two vehicles. A van, which my dad was always using, and a small gold 1988 manual transmission Chevette (similar to the photo below). My parents told me that if I ever wanted a car to drive, I'd have to learn to drive a stick shift.
I had to adapt or not drive. I chose adapt.
Just as I had to adapt to drive a stick shift, businesses must adapt to leverage AI as a powerful tool for growth and innovation, rather than fearing it as a threat to their livelihood.
The Journey of Adaptation
Learning to drive a manual transmission car was not without its challenges. From managing stops on hills without rolling back into the car behind me to mastering the coordination between clutch, gears, and accelerator. It required patience, practice, and a willingness to step out of my comfort zone.
But as I learned this new way of driving, I gained a sense of control and freedom that I wouldn't have experienced otherwise. And now I have to say I prefer driving a stick shift!
In the business world, embracing the opportunities AI brings requires a willingness to learn, adapt, and explore new possibilities.

Personally, I’ve been using ChatGPT to write website copy for our clients and assist me with my blog posts. This year and I’ve already written three times as many as all of last year – which has increased our visibility and website traffic.
AI becomes a valuable companion on our entrepreneurial journey, amplifying our capabilities and helping us navigate the complex business landscape with confidence.

While these tools can enhance our storytelling, it's important to note that they cannot replace our unique perspectives and experiences.
